Bookbinding Workshop: Lay-Flat Journal With Concertina Binding

A hands-on bookbinding workshop at Inkling where participants learn concertina binding and make their own lay-flat journal.

This two-hour session at Inkling teaches concertina binding, with participants guided step by step through folding, stitching and assembling a lay-flat journal that stays open when in use. All materials and tools are provided, including vintage silk and linen threads and a choice of coloured papers, and no experience is needed. Each attendee leaves with a finished handmade journal and the skills to make more at home; under-16s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
