Biofluorescence Night Walks

Guided night walks through Lower Woods using UV lights to reveal biofluorescent colours in leaves, fungi, bugs and animals.

Two 90-minute guided walks explore Lower Woods after dark using UV lights to reveal biofluorescence — the phenomenon where organisms absorb light at one wavelength and emit it at another. Led by David Atthowe, participants will see leaves, trees, fungi, bugs and animals in unexpected colours invisible to the naked eye. Walks start at 5.30pm and 7.30pm, meeting at the Central Car Park.
