Forty Farms: Photography Exhibition by Amy Bateman

A free photography exhibition by Amy Bateman portraying forty Cumbrian farming businesses, shown in Theatre by the Lake's Circle Gallery and outdoors in Hope Park.

Over a year, photographer and livestock farmer Amy Bateman travelled across Cumbria documenting the realities of modern farming, producing intimate portraits and stories from forty different farming businesses. The exhibition spans the theatre's Circle Gallery, with additional photography and interpretation, and large-scale outdoor portraits displayed on the railings of Hope Park. It runs alongside TBTL's world premiere production of The Farmer's Wife, whose development drew on meetings with some of the women featured in the photographs.
