Secrets of the Shore
About
A three-hour guided fossil-hunting walk on Spurn's beach for families, led by an experienced local fossil hunter.
Yorkshire Wildlife Trust's Spurn team leads a three-hour fossil hunting adventure on Spurn's beach, described as a step up from their shorter Fossil Fun sessions. Participants join a local fossil hunter with over 20 years of experience on the Yorkshire coast and search for finds ranging from 300-million-year-old coral specimens to ice age remains, with staff helping to identify discoveries and offering preparation advice and tips. The walk covers uneven terrain on one of Europe's fastest-eroding coastlines, and attendees are advised to dress warmly, wear sturdy footwear and bring binoculars.
