Hands Off WW2 Women's Self Defence (Women Only)
About
A women-only workshop marking International Women's Day, exploring WWII women's combat training from Fairbairn's Hands Off! to SOE methods.
Battalion Martial Arts presents a three-hour women-only workshop exploring the combat training and experiences of women during the Second World War. Participants practise selected techniques from W. E. Fairbairn's wartime guide Hands Off! alongside material inspired by the close-combat training associated with the Special Operations Executive, whose female agents served in occupied Europe. The practical session covers striking, close-quarter fighting, wrestling, responses to grabs and selected weapon skills, taught from a historical martial arts reconstruction perspective rather than as a modern self-defence course. No previous martial arts experience is required and the event is open to beginners and experienced martial artists aged 18 and over.
