Mezzotint

A three-day course in preparing, drawing and printing a mezzotint on copper with an etching press.

Participants prepare and work a copper plate, building tones from deep greys to white highlights. The course also explores alternative routes to a mezzotint effect and combining it with other intaglio methods. It runs 31 October–2 November, 10:00–17:30 each day. Suitable drawing experience is helpful but not stated as essential. Completion includes three months of associate membership.
