The Married Life of Atoms: The Harry Kerr Bursary
About
A retrospective exhibition of the late photographer Harry Kerr's personal work shown alongside new photography by 2024 Harry Kerr Bursary winner Danielle Macleod.
The exhibition presents a retrospective of the personal photography of Harry Kerr (1960–2022), spanning projects exploring meaning, landscape, time, communication, mathematics, particle physics and the snapshot aesthetic, including a display of his unrealised installation proposal that gives the show its title. Alongside it, Danielle Macleod, recipient of the 2024 Harry Kerr Bursary, shows Gorm an Fheòir — The Blue of the Grass, portraits and landscapes in cyanotype and botanical toning exploring traditional Highland and Island folk-healing practices. Co-curated by Christina McBride and Martha McCulloch, the exhibition forms part of Season of Photography 2026. An opening reception takes place 5–7pm on Friday 18 September 2026, free but ticketed via Eventbrite.
