Still Glasgow
About
A free photography exhibition at GoMA featuring over 80 works portraying Glasgow past and present, drawn from Glasgow Life Museums' collection.
Still Glasgow is an extensive photography-led exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art examining the city past and present through more than 80 works from Glasgow Life Museums' collection. It pairs well-known images by photographers such as Oscar Marzaroli, Bert Hardy, Linda McCartney and David Eustace with lesser-known pieces, including works never previously exhibited, such as Alan Dimmick's portrait of Franz Ferdinand and Eustace's 1993 Buskers Portfolio. The show also explores how artists work with the photographic medium, featuring Roderick Buchanan's film Gobstopper, panels from Stansfield/Hooykaas's installation What's It to You?, and images documenting community perspectives from groups like Glendale Women's Café and Romano Lav. Opening during Glasgow 850 and continuing into GoMA's 30th anniversary year in 2026, the exhibition will form part of a public programme celebrating the gallery's milestone.
