Book Launch + Talk: Somewhere between a doll and a dog by Ezekiel
About
SMUT celebrates the release of Ezekiel's monograph Somewhere between a doll and a dog with a book signing and conversation with Maite de Orbe at the ICA.
SMUT hosts a launch for Ezekiel's new monograph Somewhere between a doll and a dog, combining a book signing with an intimate conversation led by ICA Artist Development Resident Maite de Orbe. The book is a three-year visual diary shot across the UK, Europe, the USA and the Philippines, blending diary fragments, archival family portraits and ephemera to frame transness as a fluid state beyond borders and binaries. As a first-generation immigrant, Ezekiel returned to their country of birth after ten years to reconnect with pre-colonial attitudes towards gender. The event takes place in the ICA's Upper Gallery.
