Understanding the Exploitation of Girls and Young Women
About
A full-day training session delivered by Essex Police on recognising and responding to the exploitation of girls and young women.
This in-person session, delivered by Essex Police, aims to make the invisible visible by increasing awareness of how exploitation of girls and young women presents and why it is often overlooked. Participants explore female-specific vulnerabilities, grooming, coercive control, trauma bonding and the 'boyfriend model', and the overlap between criminal and sexual exploitation, domestic abuse and serious violence. The day covers trauma-informed, gender-responsive and survivor-centred practice, and includes scenario-based workshops with survivor-informed discussion to build professional confidence in safeguarding and multi-agency responses.
