Stitching with Nature Workshop with Katerina Knight
About
A hand embroidery workshop with textile artist Katerina Knight using dried plant materials alongside traditional stitching techniques.
Katerina Knight leads a four-hour workshop introducing hand embroidery techniques that incorporate dried plant materials such as lavender seeds, cornflowers, marigold and statice as embellishments. She demonstrates stitches including double darning, single-thread couching, herringbone and interlacing, guiding participants to build textured surfaces with thread and nature. All materials are provided, including dried flora homegrown or sustainably foraged in Malvern, Worcestershire, and no prior embroidery experience is needed. The session is pitched as a calm, sensory experience focused on slow, mindful making.
