Portico Ubuntu: Diaspora Dine and Discussion - 100 Years of Black History Month
About
An evening dinner and discussion at The Portico Library marking 100 years of Black History Month, with a diaspora-inspired menu and guest speakers.
The inaugural Diaspora Dine & Discussion marks the centenary of Black History Month with a drinks reception beneath the library dome, followed by a curated dinner in the Members' Reading Room. Guest curator Carol Ann Whitehead introduces the Ledger of Liberation – Portico Ubuntu exhibition and a menu by The Portico Kitchen created with lead chef Pete Moody, inspired by the culinary traditions of the African diaspora. Special guest Councillor Hilaria Asumu shares her vision for strengthening communities through connection, leadership and collaboration.
