About

A literary-themed afternoon tea at The Portico Library inspired by Shirley Jackson's gothic novella We Have Always Lived in the Castle.

The Portico Kitchen team hosts an afternoon tea inspired by Shirley Jackson's novella We Have Always Lived in the Castle, the final instalment of their literary afternoon tea series this year. The menu explores the role food plays in the gothic story and runs alongside the Portico's Witches and Healers exhibition. The ticket includes a full afternoon tea service with bottomless loose leaf tea or filter coffee, with dishes such as Gloucester rarebit, rum cakes and blackberry tartlets.
