Page Scribblers: Writing Gothic & Supernatural Fiction
About
A day writing workshop at Holst Victorian House exploring gothic and supernatural fiction inspired by Theodor von Holst's paintings, led by curator Laura Kinnear.
This full-day workshop uses the exhibition Theodor von Holst: From Frankenstein to the Pre-Raphaelites as a springboard for writing gothic and supernatural prose. Participants explore the strange tales in von Holst's paintings alongside 19th-century texts such as Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, modern classics and traditional folk tales. The day includes discussion, writing exercises, quiet writing time and an optional sharing session, with a maximum group of eight for writers with some prior experience.
