Meditation for Beginners: Mastering the Essentials
About
An 11-week beginner meditation course at Jamyang London Buddhist Centre, running Wednesdays from 3 February to 14 April 2027, in person and online.
This 11-week course introduces meditation for complete beginners and anyone wishing to refresh their practice, meeting on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Sessions start with the basics of how and where to sit, then progress through non-analytical stabilising meditations — including walking meditations and visualisation techniques — and analytical meditations on Lam Rim topics such as Mindfulness of Death, Loving Kindness, Impermanence and Emptiness. The course builds week by week, though each week is designed to be self-contained, and handouts of key points and practices are distributed. Attendees can join regularly or ad hoc, in person at the centre or online, and donations support the centre's operations.
