About

A late-night Christmas Eve Midnight Mass at St Bride's, opening with Silent Night and featuring choral music by Mozart and Poulenc.

St Bride's holds its traditional Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve, beginning at 11:30pm with the Austrian carol Silent Night, first sung in Oberndorf some two hundred years ago. The service lasts approximately one hour and fifteen minutes and includes Mozart's Missa Brevis in D, K194 as the communion setting, followed by Poulenc's O magnum mysterium among the music after communion. The service is open to all, ticketless and free, with a retiring collection supporting the church's work and music-making.
