About

St Bride's Choir performs Britten's A Ceremony of Carols with harpist Sue Rothstein in a candlelit Advent service at St Bride's Church.

St Bride's Choir's six upper-voice singers perform Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols, accompanied by harpist Sue Rothstein, in a candlelit Advent service lasting about an hour. The work sets medieval texts by Gerald Bullett and opens and closes with the chant Hodie Christus natus est sung in procession. It is preceded by readings and plainsong sung by the lower voices of the choir. Doors open at 5pm.
