About
An exhibition marking the bicentenary of William Morris, founder of the Swindon Advertiser, exploring his life, collections and campaigns.
Marking 200 years since the birth of William Morris, founder of the Swindon Advertiser, this exhibition traces his life in a town transformed from market town to railway boomtown. It covers his roles as newspaper editor, amateur geologist, antiquarian and local historian, alongside the social justice causes he championed through his paper. Displays draw on his collections and the issues and works that engaged him across 37 years as editor.
