About

A screening of the documentary All Rivers Spill Their Stories to the Sea about a poisoned shellfish crisis in a North East fishing town, followed by a Q&A.

The Poly screens Jeanie Finlay's 2026 documentary All Rivers Spill Their Stories to the Sea (12A, 103 minutes, English). The film follows veteran fisherman Stan Rennie after a mysterious tidemark of poisoned crabs and lobsters devastates a small North East fishing town, as grief gives way to a turbulent quest for answers in the face of official ambivalence. Told with gallows humour and a strong local accent, it is a wry David and Goliath story about navigating a world suddenly and inexplicably changed forever. The screening is followed by a Q&A with producer Charlie Phillips.
