Weekday Wonderings Talk with Janey Devine: City Centre Survival

A Weekday Wonderings talk in which photographer Janey Devine discusses her City Centre Survival project documenting Southampton's changing city centre.

Janey Devine spent nearly a decade photographing Southampton and the people she met there, prompted by the rapid changes she saw in the city centre. In this talk she presents City Centre Survival, exploring how history, changing fortunes and planning decisions shape the lives and outlook of people in towns and cities today. The project is also published as a limited edition book, with copies available on the day. The talk is part of Weekday Wonderings, a weekday programme from Southampton City Council Culture and Tourism exploring the city's history and heritage.
