Violin Series III: Irène Duval & Connie Shih

Irène Duval (violin) and Connie Shih (piano) present a program featuring works by Beethoven, Clara Schumann, and Robert Schumann.

The program includes two early Beethoven violin sonatas (No. 4 and No. 5) that showcase the composer's development before the 'Eroica' Symphony. The second half juxtaposes two characteristic works for violin and piano by Clara and Robert Schumann. The Romances were composed shortly after Clara Schumann premiered Robert's sonata.
