Lore Lixenberg [Mezzo] & Maki Sekiya [Piano]

Mezzo Lore Lixenberg and pianist Maki Sekiya perform Mussorgsky's Songs and Dances of Death alongside works by Martyn Harry and Jeremy Arden, with a pre-concert talk and Q&A.

A talk at 5.30pm precedes a 6pm concert pairing Mussorgsky's brooding song cycle Songs and Dances of Death with two contemporary works: Martyn Harry's Chamber Intimacy, six poems by Anna Akhmatova, and Jeremy Arden's Songs from Hell in a new 2024 version for voice and piano. A Q&A follows at 7.15pm. The concert is organised by Studio Kükai as a co-production with the JdP.
