RÓIS
About
Fermanagh-born composer and vocalist RÓIS performs her genre-bending blend of folk, sean-nós, electronics and jazz harmony live at the ICA.
RÓIS, a composer, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and electronic artist from Fermanagh, brings her shapeshifting live set to the ICA's Stage. Her music blends folk, sean-nós, electronics and jazz harmony, and no two performances are the same, with shifts of tempo and genre shaped by the energy of the room. The show follows her acclaimed album MO LÉAN — an exploration of Irish death rituals up to the 1920s — which won Album of the Year at the Northern Ireland Music Prize and was shortlisted for the Choice Music Prize, and is being re-released remastered on Domino. The event is presented by Baba Yaga's Hut.
