Hand-Building Techniques with Clay

A three-hour hands-on clay workshop at Colchester Makerspace exploring hand-building techniques including coiling, pinchpot and slab work.

Associate Artist Harriet Caslin introduces participants to clay as a material through hand-building techniques, exploring how clay behaves and can be worked. The session covers hand-built pots, coiling, pinchpot and slab methods, including use of the makerspace's heavy-duty slab-roller machine. Finished pieces are fired in the on-site kiln, with all materials included. The class runs for three hours and is open to adults aged 18 and over.
