The Art & Science of Glaze Making & Technology - 2 Part Course
About
A two-part ceramics course with Peter Jones covering glaze theory online and hands-on glaze making and application at Colchester Makerspace.
This two-part course teaches participants how to make and apply their own glazes to fired clay. The first session is an online glaze theory class held over Google Meet, followed by a practical glaze session at Colchester Makerspace where samples are provided for experimentation. Led by ceramicist Peter Jones, the course covers glossy, satin and dry glazes, onglaze and underglaze, application techniques from dipping and pouring to spraying, and how to avoid common glaze problems. Test pieces can be taken home once fired; all materials are included and the course is for ages 18+.
