Curator Talks: Death and Burial in Roman Doncaster

Archaeology Curator Peter Robinson discusses the cemeteries and burials of the Roman Fort and Small Town of Danum (Doncaster).

The talk explores the Roman cemeteries and burials found in Danum, which was a Roman Fort and Small Town. Discoveries range from early finds beneath the Police Station to more recent ones from the Civic Building construction. The presentation examines what the Roman dead can reveal about this settlement, established around 70 C.E.
