A family Halloween trail and live show at the Historic Dockyard Chatham investigating the messy mystery of ghostly Dockyard Matey Barnaby Bilge.
Yuck Yard is a family-friendly Halloween event built around the legend of Barnaby Bilge, a clumsy Dockyard Matey said to leave slimy puddles and glowing green handprints around the Dockyard after dark. Families follow a self-led Incident Trail from 17 October to 8 November, investigating each 'grime' scene and collecting clues to decide whether Barnaby Bilge is real. From 24 October to 1 November, the indoor live show 'The Night Shift' runs daily at 11am, 1pm and 3pm, with security officers Sam Stern and Kit Keel presenting the evidence on stage. The event is designed to be fun rather than frightening and is included with Dockyard admission.
