About

A costumed Torquay Museum Society lecture by Rosemary Griggs exploring the festivities, food and customs of a 16th-century Tudor Christmas.

Speaker and author Rosemary Griggs appears in full period costume as Katherine Raleigh, mother of Sir Walter Raleigh, for this Torquay Museum Society lecture. Her lively presentation brings the festivities, feasting and fun of a Tudor Christmas to life, interspersed with songs from the peasant David. Audiences discover the etiquette, the menu and the customs of a 16th-century Christmas. The lecture is free for Torquay Museum Society Members, with the general public welcome at £5 per ticket payable on the door.
