About
An illustrated afternoon talk by Sue Flipping exploring Athens' ancient sites, back streets and modern challenges, on a Pay What You Can basis.
Sue Flipping gives an illustrated talk taking a guided 'walk' around the main sites and back streets of Athens, the home of democracy. Using personal experiences, photographs and research, it explores how the city dominated the ancient world and survived over three thousand years, while also being a vibrant modern capital now facing unprecedented challenges. The talk lasts 75 minutes and is part of the Institute's afternoon talks programme.
