Film for a Fiver: Everybody to Kenmure Street + Q&A

A £5 screening of the documentary Everybody to Kenmure Street, followed by a Q&A with guests from Glasgow.

Screened alongside the British Music Experience's 50 Years of Rock Against Racism exhibition as part of Stand Up To Racism Merseyside's 'Film for a Fiver' series, this documentary recounts the May 2021 Kenmure Street stand-off, when Glasgow residents blocked a Home Office immigration raid in Pollokshields. Directed by BAFTA-winning filmmaker Felipe Bustos Sierra and executive produced by Emma Thompson, the 99-minute, 12A-certified film combines crowd-sourced footage, archive film and set-designed scenes with actors voicing anonymous testimonies, plus an original score by Barry Burns of Mogwai. The screening is followed by a Q&A with political activist and human rights lawyer Aamer Anwar and Kenmure Street resident and SUTR national officer Julie Sherry Bryce.
