Sorting & Stocking @ Borough Food Cooperative
About
A GoodGym Southwark volunteering session helping Borough Food Cooperative sort, stock and distribute surplus food to tackle food insecurity and waste.
GoodGym Southwark volunteers help Borough Food Cooperative, a community shop at St George the Martyr Church that offers members up to 16 grocery items for £4.50 and reuses surplus food donated by The Felix Project, FareShare and Borough Market vendors. Tasks include unloading deliveries, making mixed food trays, quality-checking fresh produce, merchandising the shop floor and cleaning, with some roles delivering food to vulnerable or isolated customers. The two-hour session is open to anyone aged 18 or over and is led by GoodGym run leader Paulin Shek; participants make their own way to the task.
