Pilates Foundations (for Beginners)
About
A beginner Pilates course at RHACC teaching posture, breathing, core strength and mindful movement over weekly Monday classes.
This hands-on beginner course introduces Pilates as a mindful approach to improving posture, balance and movement control. The first lesson includes an initial mobility assessment and a brief history of Joseph Pilates, followed by work on breathing techniques, core strengthening, efficient muscle use, toning and relaxation. Tutors provide individual feedback where possible, mats are provided, and participants should wear loose clothing and bring a towel. The course runs for 10 weeks from January or 11 weeks from April, with lunchtime and early-afternoon Monday options.
