DOMNIQ: Aguas da Amazonia by Philip Glass

DOMNIQ reimagines Philip Glass's river-inspired Águas da Amazônia as a contemporary performance with self-built instruments, electronics and immersive light design.

Part of Celtic Connections 2027, this concert presents DOMNIQ's reinterpretation of Philip Glass's Águas da Amazônia, originally scored for Brazilian ensemble Uakti. The Dutch Music Prize winner combines new compositions, self-built instruments, electronics and immersive light design to evoke a journey through the Amazon basin. Performed by an ensemble of percussion, flute and strings, the piece blends hypnotic minimalism with natural textures and rhythmic energy.
