Edmondsham Fungi Foraging Walk
About
A four-hour guided fungi foraging walk in Edmondsham Woods learning about edible, medicinal and dangerous fungi.
Foraging teacher Liam O'Brien leads a fungi-focused walk through Edmondsham Woods, starting and finishing at Edmondsham House. The session opens with an introduction to fungi types and safe, sustainable foraging, with a cup of medicinal mushroom tea, before the group explores the woods identifying species and discussing their properties, history and folklore. A picnic lunch (bring your own) is supplemented with wild-flavoured snacks such as marinated jelly-ear mushrooms and fruit leather. The walk is at a gentle pace over long grass and muddy footpaths, and children under 10 attend free.
