About
A five-day practical course in restoring damaged gilding on a picture frame or piece of furniture, led by conservator Hugi Hicyilmaz.
Participants work on an object they bring or on supplied practice materials. The instruction covers surface cleaning, moulding and replacing losses, rebuilding the gesso and bole layers, applying gold leaf and toning the finish. The published timetable is 10am–4pm GMT, Monday to Friday, with a lunch break.
