Willow Storage Basket 2 Day Workshop with Sarah Le Breton

A two-day willow weaving workshop where participants make a large storage basket with leather handles from Somerset willow.

Over two days at Chevithorne Village Hall, basket maker Sarah Le Breton teaches participants to weave a large cylindrical storage basket (approximately 50cm high by 35cm diameter) from willow grown on the Somerset Levels. The course covers a frame platter base, a chasing three-rod wale weave, the diagonal/Irish side weave, a five-rod-behind-two border and leather handles, with vegan leatherette available as an alternative. Suitable for beginners and those with existing experience, the workshop is limited to six participants, with tools provided and a homemade lunch available for £12.50 payable on the day.
