LEARN-TO: Laser Weld
About
A practical intermediate workshop introducing laser welding for jewellery making, with sessions supported by Freeform Fabrication.
This hands-on workshop teaches jewellers how to use a laser welder safely and effectively, covering machine setup, output settings for different metals and alloys, and core techniques for joining, repairing and adding metal. Participants learn to build up worn areas, fill pits or gaps and reinforce settings and joints, with a practical introduction to metallurgy for the jeweller. Training takes place on FORGE's Master 4.0 laser welder, with support from Freeform Fabrication using DaDo machines. The workshop is aimed at those with some prior knowledge, and attendees bring work in progress, silver wire and a silver ring to practise on.
