About
A free talk by Shinto priest Kawanishi Yōsuke on the craftsmanship of kami-dana and ritual objects made in Ise.
Kawanishi Yōsuke, Shinto priest and third-generation president of Ise-based shrine-maker Miyachu, discusses how craftsmanship can serve as a bridge between people and kami. He covers the selection of natural materials, the transmission of skills to future generations and the challenges of sustaining these traditions. The talk forms part of a wider programme with Ise City, including a talk on the Shikinen Sengū ceremony and hands-on Okihiki Festival workshops.
