Stargazing Train
About
A family stargazing train journey with space-themed activities, telescopes and experts from Bishop Auckland Astronomical Society.
The session begins at 17:30 at Stanhope Station with space-themed activities for all the family, followed by a train ride departing at 18:00 to a unique location for stargazing. The published session runs 17:30–20:30. Visitors disembark to use telescopes and hear experts from Bishop Auckland Astronomical Society. Light refreshments and a space-themed gift are included for children. Bring a folding chair; guests climb on and off the train and need sturdy footwear and a reasonable level of fitness. If the sky is cloudy, the telescope experience is replaced by an alternative activity. The published ticket page described this session as sold out at capture.
