They Call Us Witches
About
An evening talk by Charlie Bingham on the history of witchcraft, the witch trials and the witch as a modern symbol of female empowerment, followed by discussion.
Author and researcher Charlie Bingham explores the history of witchcraft and the witch trials, examining the social, religious and political forces behind the persecution of accused women. The talk separates myth from reality and traces how the figure of the witch has evolved into a modern symbol of female empowerment and resilience. It is followed by a relaxed guided discussion with attendees, and a selection of relevant books will be available to purchase. The event lasts two hours, with doors at 6:30 PM, and the ticket includes a glass of fizz.
