Academic Seminar – Dr. Elizabeth Mburu – Does Context Matter? Exploring 1,2,3 John Through the Lens of Ubuntu
About
Dr Elizabeth Mburu gives a free academic seminar re-reading 1, 2 and 3 John through the lens of Ubuntu, with optional worship and lunch beforehand.
This academic seminar at Yarnton Manor features Dr Elizabeth Mburu, a Kenyan New Testament scholar and Associate Professor at Africa International University, Nairobi. Her presentation argues that the world in front of the text deserves more attention in interpretation, and explores the benefits of re-reading 1, 2 and 3 John through the lens of Ubuntu. The seminar runs 2–3pm and is designed to be accessible across disciplines; community worship at 12.30pm and lunch in the Manor house from 1–2pm are offered beforehand, with registration required only for the lunch.
