Forest School Training Level 3: Gillham Wood, Bexhill

An eight-day, two-module Forest School Programme Leadership qualification course in a woodland setting.

This nationally recognised Level 3 course prepares participants to plan, deliver and monitor Forest School programmes. Module 1 runs 9–13 November 2026 and Module 2 runs 23–25 February 2027; both modules meet 09:30–16:30, and full attendance is required. Training covers the Forest School approach, learner development, practical outdoor skills, tool safety, campfires, woodland flora and fauna, and sustainable woodland management. Applicants should be over 21 and have a Level 2 or higher qualification in teaching, pre-school education or youth work, or significant experience with young people outdoors; a first-aid certificate is required by the end of the course. Participants need a suitable site and client group for a minimum of six two-hour practice sessions. The course is outdoors at Gillham Wood; tools and equipment and a toilet tent are provided.
