Spoken Words Spoken Truths: Poetry Sharing Circle
About
A small, intimate poetry sharing circle where participants read their own poems aloud and are witnessed, facilitated by Ed.
Spoken Words Spoken Truths is a quiet, non-judgemental poetry sharing circle, explicitly not an open mic or writing workshop, where participants bring poems they have written and may read them aloud on personal, challenging or joyful themes without pressure to polish, explain or analyse. Each gathering combines guided meditations for grounding, poetry sharing within the circle, guided writing opportunities, reflection time, a short break and social time. Monthly themes are offered as inspiration: November's is "Vulnerability with others" and December's is "I held my tongue". The circle is facilitated by Ed, a yoga teacher and engineer who uses poetry and journaling to process emotions.
