Nature Tots 3-5 Yr Olds and Accompanying Adults, Tilgate Park

A five-week Forest School programme for 3–5 year olds and their adults at Tilgate Park, with hands-on outdoor wildlife activities.

Sussex Wildlife Trust runs this block of five Thursday Forest School sessions for children aged 3–5 with accompanying adults, led by tutor Tamara Jewell. Each two-hour session offers child-led outdoor activities themed around wildlife and the seasons, including tracking nature's signs, learning about hedgehogs and nocturnal animals, making flappy bats, festive tree decorating, bug hunting, campfires and mud kitchen play. Tots are encouraged to try woodland craft skills such as using a bow saw and building dens, developing communication, problem solving and creativity, with adults assisting rather than doing tasks for them. Sessions run rain or shine, meeting at the picnic tables outside the walled garden entrance at 10am and finishing in the woods at noon.
