Leeds 400: Places
About
A free display of paintings, prints and photographs of Leeds places from the University Art Collection, marking the city's 400th anniversary.
Marking the 400th anniversary of Leeds receiving its Royal Charter in 1626, this exhibition draws on the University Art Collection to show how artists have depicted the city's spaces, from civic architecture and industrial scenes to green spaces. Works in paint, drawing, watercolour, print and photography illustrate how Leeds has changed over time, including several pieces capturing the development of the University itself. The display also invites visitors to reflect on what the city might look like in another 400 years.
