Distilled: Beethoven's To the distant beloved

Two Opera North chorus members and a pianist perform Beethoven's An die ferne Geliebte and other songs in a Distilled chamber concert at the Howard Assembly Room.

The final Distilled chamber concert of the season features soprano Charlie Drummond and tenor Kamil Bien with pianist David Cowan. The programme centres on Beethoven's An die ferne Geliebte, a setting of poetry by Alois Jeitteles, alongside songs by R. Strauss and Britten plus Neapolitan songs and Romances. The event starts at 3pm, with the HAR bar open from 12pm for drinks and street food, and performers speak about the music as part of the up-close chamber format.
