Introduction to Oil Painting with Cora Hawkes

A beginner-friendly weekend course at Phoenix Art Space introducing the basics of figurative oil painting with artist Cora Hawkes.

Over one weekend, tutor Cora Hawkes guides participants through three different ways to start a figurative painting, showing how each process affects the outcome and helping students find an approach suited to their style and goals. The course is beginner friendly but also suits those wanting to build confidence with oils. All materials are provided and students bring a simple colour photograph to paint from; the group is capped at eight.
