British Museum Lectures: The Tudor Heart
About
Curator Rachel King discusses her British Museum Object in Focus book about the Tudor Heart pendant linked to Henry VIII and Katherine of Aragon.
Rachel King, Curator of Renaissance Europe and the Waddesdon Bequest at the British Museum, presents her new book on the Tudor Heart, an enamelled gold pendant and chain associated with Henry VIII and Katherine of Aragon. The talk covers the artefact's sensational discovery, its dating to the late 1510s, and what it reveals about Henry's early reign, including his daughter Mary's betrothal to the French king's infant son. The event is part of the British Museum Lectures series at Topping & Company's St Andrews shop, with doors opening at 7pm.
