Reclaiming Our Power
About
A free exhibition at GoMA of artworks co-curated by participants exploring the mental health impact of racist microaggressions.
Reclaiming Our Power presents the outcome of a collaborative project running from 2024 to 2026, in which the Mental Health Foundation worked with GoMA, artists and community groups to explore the mental health impact of racism through creative workshops. Participants shared experiences of racist microaggressions through discussion and artmaking, using colour, words and images. A steering group of workshop participants co-curated the exhibition with GoMA staff, and the project also produced a free online resource for professionals in education, healthcare and transport.
