The Big Story Bash – Kevin McMahon Workshop – an Introduction to Scriptwriting
About
A scriptwriting workshop for ages 8–12 with writer and actor Kevin McMahon, part of The Big Story Bash at the Floral Pavilion.
Writer, actor and artist Kevin McMahon leads a playful introduction to writing for the stage for young writers. He begins with a short reading from his children's fantasy novel Rootspell, longlisted for the Hachette Children's Novel Award 2026, then helps participants find inspiration, spark ideas, create characters and turn stories into dialogue. Children write a short scene, with volunteers able to bring their work to life. Suitable for ages 8–12 with no previous writing or acting experience needed; parents don't need a ticket.
